Dr. Norman Poh

Norman Poh received a PhD (2006) in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He then worked with Prof. Josef Kittler as a post-doctoral researcher at CVSSP, University of Surrey (UniS). Since 2009, he is a research scientist, leading the EU-funded Mobile biometry project at UniS. His areas of expertise are multiple classifier systems, pattern recognition and biometrics. He received numerous awards, notable ones include the best student poster awards in AVBPA'05, the 2005-2006 biennial Pattern Recognition Journal awards, and the advanced researcher (personal) fellowships of Swiss NSF in 2008-09.
