Biometric system identification : from the lab to the field

Dr Julien Bohne
Morpho - France

Over the last decade biometric systems have grown and spread. Today’s large scale biometric systems can manage as many as 1 billion people. To develop such systems every component has to be designed very carefully. From IT architecture to algorithm design and performance evaluation, many key issues will be tackled to give a global view of the challenges we are facing. As they are becoming parts of our everyday life, theses systems need to become easier to use. Many innovative technologies have been developed to make biometric systems more ergonomic. It will be shown how unconstraint acquisition devices and contactless sensors improve both the user experience and the overall biometric performance of the system.
