David Ackerman

David Ackerman is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Sarnoff Corporation, Princeton, NJ. He obtained his Ph.D. at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA in the field of Low Temperature Physics. For 22 years, he worked in the field of quantum optics and telecommunication at Bell Laboratories and related spin-offs. For the last 5 years, he has worked in physical optics and imaging at Sarnoff where he now concentrates on research and development of Sarnoff's Iris-On-The-Move® line of prototypes and products. Ackerman is a Senior Member of the IEEE and has taught at a variety of institutions including Princeton University and Mercer County Community College. In his spare time, he is an aspiring photographer.
